20. What is your biggest fiber-related dream? (It can be attending an event, learning a technique, meeting a person, or whatever you want!)
My biggest dream is to publish a pattern that people want to make.
I’ll get the 20 questions started, and I hope you’ll play along too! I look forward to getting to know you! (Because I can be long-winded I won’t answer all of the questions 😂)
Fiber Related: I am primarily a knitter. I’ve crocheted a few coasters and a dishcloth, but crochet still boggles my mind a bit 😅 I would love to learn how to weave, spin, and dye yarn, but I’m a bit hesitant because: A) I already don’t have nearly enough time for all of my hobbies and B) money.
Occupation: I currently spend all of my time as an independent knitwear designer. (I own Snickerdoodle Knits.) This means I do quite a bit of knitting, but also a lot of time doing business/computer work. My education is in Architectural Engineering, but if I return to work, I’m more likely to go into interior design work.
Five words to describe me: (I think this is a fun prompt, but difficult 😊) Compassionate, Reserved, Passionate, Evolving, and Devoted are what come to mind right now.
My favorite season is definitely summer. I love sunshine and warmth!
I love to travel, but my husband isn’t quite as enthusiastic about it, so we don’t do a whole lot of it. I would love to go just about anywhere (as long as it’s not too cold 😉): Switzerland, Holland, UAE, Italy, Fiji, South Africa, Chile, Hawaii, Alaska, Thailand... and on and on... My favorite location that I’ve traveled to? I really haven’t visited that many places. Finland sticks out as probably the most beautiful, but the water color at Cancun was hard to beat as well. My most meaningful travel-related relationships, though, were definitely established when I studied abroad in Russia. But, here in the US, I loved my touristy trip to Boston and would 100% love to go back again. (Now you already know about all of my most exciting travels 😅)
My hobbies: sewing, scrapbooking, a little stamping, a dabble in painting...
No pets and no children, for better or for worse. 😄
I’m not big into pop culture (we don’t have a television for starters, and I didn’t have one growing up), but I do enjoy books. Lately, I’ve gotten into audiobooks, because I have a hard time justifying just sitting and reading a book. My favorite genre is typically historical fiction, but I’ve been also enjoy autobiographies and motivational/self-help books recently.
I live in the USA. My husband and I moved to the east coast (we are from the western part of the states), and we are really enjoying it here. Unless I can convince my husband to move to Florida or somewhere like Ireland or Switzerland, we will be here for a while 😉
5 things I most value in a friend: honesty, kindness, empathy, reliability, and support.
I HATE ice breakers. 😂
Instagram is definitely my favorite social media platform. You can find me as snickerdoodleknits there.
Biggest fiber related dream? I really have no idea... I’m actually still quite new to this community; it was just two years ago that I really took up knitting. I think my dream would be to create without boundaries: financial boundaries, stress about what other people think (I.e. about my designs), deadlines, feeling like my work needs to be perfect. Just complete freedom in what I make.
